Happy 50th Birthday

hello friends.
wow - where has the week gone. it doesn't seem like 5 minutes ago I was posting my last card which was Saturday! And to cap it all off its September tomorrow! The year is flying past us so quick.

Here is today's card.
This is a commission card for a 50th birthday for a lady who loves fairies. Now I told not to use a  sexy fairy and I went through all my images and stamps and decided this one from Lili of the Valley was perfect. She is called Fairies - Bouquet - she was one of 20 images that were in a magazine freebie several months ago. In fact LOTV have allowed 2 sets to be available with the magazine which I think was Papercraft Inspirations. I find the LOTV images very versatile and easy to colour in.

Here as always I have coloured her with my copic pens and added glamour dust and glossy accents to her wings.

The die cut flower and the swirl were a kind donation from Chris of ChrisAndCat on Docrafts. The date sentiment was from Kerry aka Pickle on Docrafts. The backing paper was from my digi stash which I printed onto pearlescent paper. Butterfly was from an Xcut punch also printed onto pearlescent paper but coloured with chalks. Gems, dragonfly and flower centre from stash.

here is the date sentiment

I changed the date number to purple to match everything else. The month and year match the sentiment using Francine Hmk font

The flower die was from ChrisandCat - I used a purple brad for effect and a dragonfly from stash.

here is a close up of the fairy herself

thanks for dropping by and I would love to read your comments.

hugs to you all

Happy Birthday (forever friends commission)

hello everyone.
hope the last bank holiday weekend of the year has you doing what ever takes your fancy!!

here is today's card. This is another commission card - here I chose a Forever Friends bear from a freebie CD that came with a magazine a few weeks ago.

I printed out the bear twice and slightly decoupaged the present, the cupcake and the bear's front paw. Not sure if you can see it clearly enough.

The backing paper was also from a Forever Friends CD but this time the Triple CD. I printed it out with a lower transparency and then added pink chalk to the edges to soften it.  I added gemstones to random flowers for sparkle.

The date sentiment was from Kerry (Pickle) and here I changed the date number to pink to make it stand out from the other numbers and added the month and this years date in a Baahmk font also in pink.

thanks for dropping by today and I would appreciate any comments good or bad or any suggestions.

love and hugs until next time

Happy 25th Birthday

hello friends
thanks for dropping by again I truly appreciate all your visits and comments.
Today's card is another commission card but I didn't have a lot of notice to make it! So I used a trusty  image from the fabulous Lili of the Valley set that was a freebie with a magazine. This one is called Teddy Bouquet. I love him as he is so versatile -I coloured him with my copics and added glossy accents to the flowers and gems for some of the centres.

I have printed a background directly onto the base card with a paler transparency and printed the sentiment using Greeting Card Factory programme in a Liorah font.

I added Charlotte's name in the tag of the bouquet using a Baahmk font but very small - I thought it looked cute!

Here is  close up of the bear.

Excuse the colours - the camera flash made the colours look different to the actual colouring in!!

thanks for dropping by and as always all comments are read, appreciated and replied to with a comment on your blog too!!

hugs until next time

Happy 21st Birthday

hello friends.
wow - this seems to be getting a habit with me - posting on a Tuesday!!
I do hope you are all well.
here is my card for Kim who is Karen Redrottie's daughter- Redrottie is a fellow member from Docrafts and a fab blogger too.

Here I have used a Tickled Pink Fairy called Kira. I have coloured her with Copics. I matted her onto redcardstock. The paper is from my digi stash and I changed the colour from dark pink to red.

The date stamp in the corner was made by the very talented Kerry aka Pickle also on Docrafts and also a fab blogger.
I altered the date to red to show the date of Kim's birthday rather than circling it with a pen.

the swirls were from Chris of ChrisAndCat and I added gems from my stash for lots of sparkle.

here is a close up of Kira.

I added lots of glue and glamour dust to make her wings sparkle! and tiny gems in the flowers in her hair.

I do hope Kim likes it.
thanks for dropping by today and I appreciate your comments

until next time
hugs to you all

Wedding Day (commission)

hello friends and fellow card makers!
hope you are all well and not too hot on what is supposed to be the hottest day of the year!! My theory is just wait and see! We had all kinds of weather yesterday - I think we had everything but snow!!

Anyway here is today's card. Another landscape style and another requested card. My apologies if these are boring you - but at the moment this is the most requested style for wedding day and anniversary cards.

Here I have used white and silver as my theme. I sadly ran out of silver mirri card so instead I edged the card section with all the details on with silver ink. I also did the same to the flowers, leaves and butterfly.

I think the slight edging of silver ink sets it off against the stark white background.

I added sparkly gems for a bit of bling! And I think it sets if off too.

as always I appreciate any comments or feedback from you.

Am off now to check out all your fabulous blogs too

until next time
hugs

Anniversary card for husband (commission)

hello friends.
wow friday again!! I feel like this is deja vu!! Have a card to show you today and would like some honest feedback as always.
this request was for a sloppy, romantic card with a bear for a husband called Tom.
I love this Forever Friends bear image, he looks so cute holding the banner. I printed him out twice and tried to make the banner a little more defined and prominent. I added glossy accents to the heart too. I think I might need some tips from Debby  of A Scrapjourney!! She makes it look so professional!!

I printed the heart background direct onto the base card itself and the sentiments were printed using BaaHmk font. Which I think is pretty similar to the FF bear font.
I then matted it onto red cardstock and added red heart shaped gems to the corners for some sparkle.

here is a close up of the heart banner

you might be able to make out the glossy accent on the heart.
I thought it added a little definition to the heart.

thanks for dropping by today and I appreciate your time and feedback.

hugs until next time

Wedding Anniversary

hello friends.
wow - its Tuesday again. the weeks are getting faster and faster.
Thanks for the positive comments on my previous card. Much appreciate every comment and read them all.
Here is today's card.
Again its another commission card in the landscape style that seems to quite popular with my card buyers.

This one is for a 2nd Wedding Anniversary of Natalie and Danielle. I kept it plain and simple and black with the flowers, leaves and butterfly with sparkly gemstones.

The wording was done on the PC using the very popular Scriptina font. this time I have added a slight shadow to it. The names are done in a Baskerville font.

The flowers and from an x-cut punch with leaves from a Martha Stewart punch. the butterfly punch is also an x-cut punch I think!!
The gems are from my stash - these ones are very sparkly and I add them in-between the flowers and around the leaves just to lift it slightly from the black card-stock.

Thanks for dropping by again today. I am hoping to have another card to show you all tomorrow.

hugs until next time

Happy Birthday

hello friends
hope you are all enjoying the start of the weekend. Thanks for all the comments on my latest cards and I hope you like what I have to share with you today.

This is another commission card. Here I have used a Lily of the Valley image which was free a while ago with Papercraft Inspirations magazine. This image is called Milly - here as always she is coloured with my copic pens.

I added glossy accent to the butterfly in her hair and the flower in her hand. I have cut her out using my cuttlebug and matted onto lilac cardstock again cut with a cuttlebug die. The swirls you can see were a very kind donation from Chris of ChrisAndCat fame on Docrafts.  The sentiment printed direct onto the cardstock base using a font called KatTail.

The butterfly is a punch as are the flowers. I added sparkly gems for effect. I think I maybe should have coloured the die swirls in. Not sure if they show up enough with them being white. What do you think?

Here is a close up of Milly so you can hopefully see the butterfly
in her hair.

Thanks for dropping by today and I appreciate any feedback especially on the swirls!!

hope to see you again very soon
hugs always from me to you

Happy Birthday Special Sister

hello Friends.
hope you are all okay and doing whatever takes your fancy today.
Here is another card for my niece Suranne from her sister Adelle. They are both my eldest brother's daughters and it doesn't seem 5 minutes since they were both little girls.

Here I have used a Magnolia Tilda image which was very kindly sent to me by a good friend called Lisa from Wishcraft blog. thanks very much Lisa. She always makes the most amazing cards and is a design team member on several sites.

I have coloured Tilda with my trusty copic pens and added some glossy accents to the centre of the flower.

The wording was done direct onto the base card itself using my Greeting Card Factory programme and using a font called Starbabe - I also did the swirls and the butterfly behind the wording using the GCF programme too. I just felt it needed something to lift it.

Here is a close up of the image

I know Suranne will love it as she loves everything purple and lilac!

thanks for dropping by again today - I really really appreciate all your viewings and comments. really means a lot to me.

off now to do another commission card which I hope to upload tomorrow.

hugs until next time

Happy Birthday stepper card

hello friends
well where has the weeks gone to now? Its August and already its flying past quicker than you can say it will soon be Christmas!! Lol - someone actually told me the other day they had already started their Christmas shopping!! Gulp!! I couldn't believe it - I'm normally the manic shopper running around on Christmas Eve getting things from petrol stations and corner shops!! LOL - Only kidding - I'm not that bad but I do leave it till the week before Christmas.

Anyway enough of Christmas!! (and it isn't even here yet thank God!!) - here's to the card. This is a first for me so please be kind!! I created a stepper card for my brother to give to his daughter Suranne -  she is mad on horses and I found this image and although its a print out I did change some of it slightly in photoshop.
I matted into onto black cardstock - I did the wording on the PC too using a combination of Baskerville Old Face and ForgetMeKnot fonts.

This is the card from the front view.   I made the rosette myself from black cardstock. I cut the circle with my cuttlebug after printing out the wording from the PC.

Here is a close up of the rosette and the image of the horse.

thanks for dropping by and I would appreciate any comments good or bad.
