apologies for lack of posts

just a quick post to apologise for no recent posts.
My Auntie Sheila suddenly died on Friday and I am trying to sort out funeral arrangements, wills, etc to help my Dad out.
She was my Dad's only sister and he was due to go to the hospital on Friday for his injections into his eye as he has Macular Degenerative eye disease.
But Auntie Sheila hadn't been well and if Dad stuck to his appointment he would have been away for most of Friday and he liked to check in on her a few times a day.  So he rescheduled his appointment and made an a appointment for Shelia to be seen at home by the on-call doctor at noon on Friday.
So instead of going at 8am like he normally did he went across about 9am and sadly found her dead on the bathroom floor.  She was 83 - she would have been 84 on April 5th.
Dad obviously is devastated and I am her only niece. My 3 brothers have been helping out to but she only had Dad and Mam and us to help her out.

I will be back as soon as I can and hope you all understand.

R.I.P. Auntie Sheila. you will be greatly missed x

Happy Mother's Day card 2

Hello again!! Crikey twice in one day - people will start to talk!! LOL
Here is another one of my Mother's Day card. this one is using a Newton the Bear image. coloured with copics.
I added glossy accents to the flower head for effect. Matted onto cardstock. I added the ribbon and the sliding heart embellishment as I felt it was a bit lost on its own.
The wording was done directly onto the main cardstock using my PC and my Greeting Card Factory programme using GweetHmk font -

I was trying to match the colour of the flower with some cardstock and I think I got it pretty close. Serves me right for colouring it in before checking my card stock supplies!! LOL
Here is a slightly blurry close up image of the bear

any comments most welcome especially for this one - do you think the image looks lost on the C5 size card?

Happy Mother's Day cards.

hello followers.
well apologies firstly as I know its Wednesday and Mother's Day has passed but I didn't get chance to post any cards before now.
So sorry these cards are late but I cannot seem to win with Mother's Day cards. I either have loads of orders or none at all. This year I had 4 orders but all on Saturday!! Strange when you consider most people know that Mother's Day is coming up.
Anyway here are the cards I made for other people's Mothers or Mam's as we refer to them in the North!! LOL

This first card is a small one done as a quick one. The image is a Digistamp boutique bear called Coco. I love him. He is so versatile and can be used for any occasion. He is coloured as always with my trusty Copics and I added glossy accents to the heart to make it stand out more.

The backing paper was a freebie from Pink Petticoat that came in a paper pack with a magazine from a little while ago. The wording is done on the PC using Papyrus font
I simply matted the bear and the wording onto pink cardstock and stuck this to the backing paper. Simple but I feel effective.
here is a close up of Coco!

My copics are running out as usual and I have made Coco slightly paler than I normally would but I think he looks okay and kind of goes better with the pale pink backing paper.

thanks for looking and the first of my uploads today x

Happy 60th Birthday Bob

hello everyone!
flippin heck - now its Friday. what happened to Sunday and Monday and the rest of the week? Don't know about your world but in mine the weeks seem to be flying by!

hope you are all well and having fun doing any crafting you love.
Here is my latest commission card- a birthday card for Bob

This is a fabulous Digistamp boutique image called Alf with beer. Designed by the very talented Sally-Ann. She comes up with the most amazing designs. Here I have coloured Alf in with my trusty copics and slightly flared his trousers out as requested.

The request was also for the saying "hope you can still move like Jagger" on it also. So I just printed this at the bottom of the image.
Because I made the trousers flared you couldn't quite see the trouser legs so I have added a slight white highlight with my trusty Sharpie white pen.
I added musical notes too and the wording was printed direct onto the base card itself  using Greeting Card Factory and using Fidelio font.

I used a combination of lots of glamour dust and glossy accents to try and make the froth on the beer appear frothy! LOL
Not sure it works though?

let me know what you crafters think. I trust your judgement rather than my own! then again aren't we all like that at times?

I should really be making and uploading Mother's Day cards but I cannot get into them at the moment. Mr Mojo left with the Bob card I think!
Hope Bob sends it back though!

take care and thanks for stopping by again.
let me know what you think and I will pop by and see your creations too.

hugs always

Lily of the Valley Best Friends

hello friends!!
well yet again the week has disappeared and its Saturday again. Crikey where are the weeks going?
As I'm trying hard to keep up with regular blogging I thought I would share with you my latest creation.
This is another fab LOTV image still from the set of freebies that came with Papercraft Inspirations magazine. As always coloured with my copics.

the backing paper was a My Mind's Eye set that came free with a magazine from a year or so ago.

I picked this paper as it had a hint of orange to match the little girls dress.
The flower are an xcut punch with candi dots in the centres.
wording done on PC using Baskerville Old Font. cut with cuttlebug die.
Please ignore the slightly blurry out of focus photos. I am still working out the settings on the camera.

hope you all have a fab weekend and do whatever you enjoy doing.

take care until next time
thanks for stopping by
 hugs always

Happy Birthday Jennie

hello followers!
ooh that sounds like I have millions doesn't it! I truly appreciate each and every follower I have and I try my hardest to visit everyones blog at least once every other day. Obviously being at work its kind of easy for me as I have the internet on all day so I do check out and look in awe at everyones fab cards.

Today's offering is a card I made for a dear friend of mine on Docrafts called Jennie. Everyone always comments on how caring and kind Jennie is and I for one have to agree. Jennie send you crafty stuff without you even asking. Now that is a true crafter, do you not think?

The idea of this card came from the fab Kerry otherwise known by everyone as Pickle. Her blog aloadofoldpickle is fabulous. You must check it out if you haven't already.
Kerry kindly gave me permission to kind of copy her design and layout. Obviously I did ask her first before posting it on here.

this is another LOTV image which again was a freebie with Papercraft Inspirations magazine. Honestly these freebies have come in so handy for me recently.

As always coloured with my trusty copics.  Although the photo doesn't show it the flowers are covered with glossy accents. The smaller photo is so blurry it hurts my eyes! So I didn't post it on here. didn't want you all to feel all fuzzy!
The flowers are from my xcut punch and the leaves are from a Martha Stewart leaf punch. I added dark pink gems for sparkle.

thanks to Kerry for her kindness and to those of you who are checking this out today.

take care everyone
until next time

Happy Birthday

hello again followers. wow - what a drab weekend. not sure about your little corner of the world but its very dull, and miserable looking today here in not very sunny Northumberland.
what has happened to the weather?
hope you are all keeping well and warm if its a tad chilly where you are! I'm wrapped up with my cardi on! not a good sign
anyway - here is todays upload.

this is one of the many fab new LOTV images that were recently released.
this one is called Party Girl as always coloured in with my copics.
the backing paper was one kindly donated to me by the fabulous Lisa at Wishcraft. I used glamour dust on her crown and glossy accents on the balloon.

The sentiment was a one created by the fabulous Kerry over at A Load of Pickle .  I can't remember where the swirl came from though! Flowers done with xcut punch and gems added for sparkle.

thanks for stopping by today and hope you leave a comment.

hugs always
until next time

ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE - Happy 20th Birthday

Well flippin heck - another posting!! LOL. I think I am coming over all organised for some strange reason. Might be the weather tee hee
Anyway this is a rather strange request - well perhaps I should let my followers be the judge of that.
This is a requested card for a girl called Bethany - she is a tattoo client of ours and knows my daughter. Her Mam requested this card and here is the strange bit. She hates cards!!!!???
No, not the Mam - Bethany!
Her Mam had some Christmas cards made and Beth commented on how she loved my cards and how pretty they all looked but she couldn't see the point in me making them as in her opinion all cards are a waste of time???
Now I wasn't sure I heard her correctly so I asked her to repeat what she had said - she said exactly the same thing. She hated cards and didn't see the point in giving cards out or receiving them as all you did with them was "put them up and then chuck them away!"
Now....not sure if its me but I find that rather odd?? Do you not??
Yes okay so we all like different things - if we didn't the world would be a very boring place. But why did her Mam ask me to make a card for her if she hates them?
I reckon it will end up in the bin in any case. So her Mam said just make it plain and simple but I had to put Bethany on as it will make Beth even more cross apparently.
Now is someone taking the pee out of me here or not?
Anyway this is the image I chose as Beth likes cats and dogs. I picked this one as I thought it was cute but I haven't add any embellishments or flowers as yet as I'm not sure whether or not to.
I know we can't dictate what happens to our cards when they are received but I am not sure if I want to put on my flowers and gems and glamour dust etc if its just going to be chucked away.
So here it is plain and simple for now as I would like your opinions first.

Should I add some flowers or gems or something else to it? Do you think its wasting my time and crafty goodies?

this is a close up of the cat - the image is a LOTV image which again was a freebie in Papercraft Inspirations magazine.
Coloured with copics. Added glossy accents to the flowers and the paper was a download from Pink Petticoat with the wording done directly onto the paper from the PC using Americana font.

thanks for looking and in this posting I would dearly love some comments as to whether or not I am wasting my time here or not.

hugs always
see you all soon
