Twilight Birthday Card

hello friends
crikey!! what has happened to the weather? don't know about where you live but it was pouring down with rain today.
I just wish the weather would make its mind up!

well today's card is one that I had some help with.....well I say some help. A lot!!
The request was for a huge Twilight fan and she loves the main character.
Luckily for me I work with 2 very talented people (hubby Davey  and Justin!) and so Justin drew the main character out for me.

It took him about 5 hours in total in between doing other drawings.
I simply matted onto black card stock and did the wording direct from the PC onto the card base using a Twilight font.
I kept it plain and simple so as not to take away from the portrait.

here is a close up

now not being a Twilight fan I would like anyone's opinion who maybe is. Is this a suitable card for a huge Twilight fan?

let me know what you think!
any comments more than welcome.
thanks for dropping by and hope to see you all again very soon

love always

Hippo Birdie Two Ewe

hello friends
how are you all doing today? don't know about your part of the world but its very dull today in Northumberland and looking more miserable by the minute!!

well as promised yesterday I have another card to share with you all.
This was an extremely quick card. And I think its quite funny myself although a few people I have shown it to just don't get it.
Maybe its my warped sense of humour!! LOL
Anyway its a take on the "Hippo Birdie Two Ewe" card that was done a few years ago now just with a different image.

All I did was simply print out the image and matt onto black card stock.  I added the wording myself from the PC using the font called  Tempus Sans - I think its plain but simple. Someone did suggest colouring the balloons and the hooter in the ewe's mouth but I preferred it monochrome as it can be for a man or a woman.

What do you think? Would you leave it as it is or colour the balloons?
Any suggestions welcome as I always trust what you all think!

anyway take care - enjoy the rest of your Wednesday.
lots of love and hugs to you all

hello everyone

wow its Tuesday again and I cannot believe its nearly the end of May. where has the first part of the year gone.
I would like to thank each and everyone of you who have been so kind to leave comments on my latest cards.
You have no idea how much it means to me to have such positive and nice comments.
I try my hardest to visit every single one of your blogs at least twice a week to check your new postings too.
(((((Hugs))))) to you all for being so kind x

today I have a quickie card. These images were a recent purchase from Digistamp Boutique. I just love their images - they are all so versatile.
This one is a quick one I made using the A Little Birdie told me... images and text.
I simply printed coloured with copics and them matted it onto a background paper.

I added 2 small black pearls for his eyes and a pearl in the centre of the flower.
Very quick and simple but I think effective. What do you think?

thanks again for dropping by and I hope to have a new card for you tomorrow.

hugs to you all
lots of love

Hello!!! friendship swap card on Docrafts

hello again friends.
hope you are all well and enjoying the lovely sunny weather. Its very sunny today and everyone seems in a good mood!

Today's card my card for the Docrafts May Friendship swap with Buzz (Heather).
The image is a LOTV image called Milly who I have coloured with copics. She is just so sweet! this was from a set of freebie LOTV images from a magazine.
The papers are from a freebie paper pack that was included with another more recent  magazine recently that belongs to the Me to You range.

the wording was done on the PC. Candi dots are from my stash and the flowery die was kindly donated to me by the fabulous Chris from ChrisAndCat on Docrafts. thanks so much Chris. they are fabulous

hope you like what I have done with it. any comments as always are welcome.

Just for You - a card for Pops

hello friends and fellow bloggers.
wow its Wednesday again. I cannot believe how fast these weeks are going. Honestly you would think I had nothing better to do than complain about the days going fast!!
hope you are all well and enjoying (hopefully) the sunshine wherever you are in the world.
Its sunny here today and although I don't sunbathe I like it when its sunny cos people seem happier!!

anyway here's to today's card.  This is a card I made for the very talented Pops who had a draw on her blog to win a fabulous Lily of the Valley stamp. The card I have made is a thank you to her for picking me and to show off the stamp that I won in the draw.

The image is a LOTV stamp - its called Patchwork Hot Air Balloon.I coloured  the bear in as always with my copics. Took me a few goes to get the shading right as I wanted to show Pops my colouring in!! LOL not that she has anything to worry about!!

I added some pearls to the spotty section of the balloon. The section next to it to the left has glittered stripes. I did a bubble effect (as taught by hubby! LOL) behind the image for effect. I used a Pink Petticoat digi paper called fluffy clouds.

The pink paper was from my stash. The wording I did on the PC using a Havix font. Ribbon from stash with a hand tied bow!! ooh get me! My first proper go with a hand tied bow. I was very pleased with my effort!
Gems added for a bit of bling.
Thanks for dropping by and I will let you know hopefully what Pops thought of her card.  I do hope Pops likes it.

any comments would be much appreciated!

love and hugs until next time.

Digi Stamp boutique Rosie - just for you

hello Friends
well if it isn't Friday again. Crikey where has the week gone to now?
It dull and overcast here in Blyth and to cheer myself up I decided to make a card with another fabulous Digi Stamp Boutique image called Rosie. LOL
This collection is called Rosie 1. There is another set too.
I used my copics to colour her in and gave her red hair like mine!! Just wish my legs were as slim as hers. LOL

I simply matted and layered her up onto one of my digital  paper stash that I hadn't used.
2 of the corners have  die cuts which you can't quite see (perhaps I should have done them in pink!) for effect.
I ran the blue paper through the cuttlebug using my swiss dots folder for some dimension and did the sentiment on the PC. Using baskerville and scriptina font.
I coloured the background behind Rosie in with chalks to make it look like clouds and sky.
She has some glamour dust on her headband for sparkle.

I am hoping to enter this into the Digi Stamp Boutique monthly competition and I did do another card from the A Little Birdie told me set but that one  looks like another one that has already been entered and I didn't want anyone to think I was copying!!

thanks for dropping by today and hope to see you all very soon.
take care as always
love and hugs to you all

Happy Birthday

hello friends
crikey its Tuesday again. I swear down blind it was Tuesday the other day (which yes technically it was!!) but I think you know what I mean.
Where are the weeks going. I'm scared to go to bed in case I wake up and its December!!
Well I suppose then I would have missed the Olympics and the Jubilee, and Wimbledon and the Football!!
anyway to the card - this is a quickie one for the basket and for a change its for a male birthday.

The image is from the Clip Art Fairy. Its called Beer Bear Kit and its printable and ready to use which was perfect for what I needed.
I got the idea from the fabulous Kerry (Pickle) at A Load of Old Pickle - as always Kerry comes up with fab ideas and I loved the way she did her card. Obviously I did my version but I do think Kerry's is better!!
I printed the image and the papers using Page Plus from Serif and basically matted and layered it up onto a 6inch square card. I added glamour dust to the froth on the beer just for effect.
I hope you like it!!

thanks for dropping by again. will check out your blogs too if you leave a comment whether good or bad.
take care friends and hope to see you again very soon

Happy Birthday

hello friends
well how wrong was I? in my previous posting I said the next thing we would know it would be Friday - well its not its Saturday!!! crikey I swear down blind it was only Thursday about 2 hours ago. Is someone fast forwarding the weeks just to confuse me? Or is it the same with you lot too?

well this card is one I made with hey guess what? LOL a LOTV image. I promise I will try and do something different next time but these images are just so darn cute. This image is called Pretty Bouquet as always she is coloured with copics. I used glossy accents on the flowers in her bouquet to make them stand out a bit more. I added a tiny pearl to the bow in her hair.

The papers are from a freebie pack that was with a magazine. I looked through the back and found the Happy Birthday sentiment and that's what prompted me to use the papers to match the flower design on the sentiment. I think it co-ordinates pretty well with the colours I used on the image. I used pink cardstock for matting and the gorgeous leafy flourish die is another of the ones that Chris from ChrisAndCat on Docrafts sent me. She is so kind. thanks again Chris. much appreciate your generosity. The die is called a Die-namics Leafy Flourish.

I wasn't too sure if colouring the die in green would look right against the green paper so I left it in as Chris sent it to me.

thanks for dropping by and please leave a comment so I can visit you too and leave you comments x

hugs always to you all

Happy Birthday for a little boy

hello friends and followers.
crikey its Wednesday again, where do the weeks go to? Next thing we know it will be Friday again.
anyway to the card for today's posting.
This is a LOTV image (no surprise there!) I just love these images from LOTV they can be used for so many different people and occasions.  This one is called Football Crazy - I have coloured him with copics and used a blue and white stripey paper for the background.
The sentiment is done on the PC using Brush Script font and I added dashes and dots around the edges of the image and the sentiment for effect. Don't look too closely - they are not very tidy!!
The ball was covered in glossy accents to make it shiny but I'm not sure if its a good idea or not. I will let all of you be the judge of that.  The candi dots were from my stash.

I am entering this into Lisa from Wishcraft blog's Waste Not Wednesday where she encourages you to use up any old images or papers that you have had and make them into a card. I'm not sure if there is a sketch to follow this week.

thanks for dropping by today. I really appreciate it.
hugs to you all until next time we meet
